On Saturday morning Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia were on the start of another day of Rally Italia Sardegna. In the usual terms such announce does not deserve to be considered like hot news. But taking into account Friday problems Ukrainian team had come through it was really good news.

Ukrainian duo had passed only 700 meters after the start of the first special stages before they crashed. After long straight section the race road leapt over a little jump with crumbly soil at landing point and directed lightly to the left. At first glance it was a harmless place but as it turned out the place was very tricky. After jump Eurolamp WRT’s MINI Copper WRC slipped down off the road, hit a hurst by front right wheel and rolled over the bonnet and driver’s side.

Fortunately, Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia suffered no harm. It may be said that the car had good luck, because just after a few minutes the crew of Yazeed and Michel Orr slipped down off the road at the same place. And if their Ford had moved a few meters more and had hit the bonnet of MINI the outcome would have been quite different.

After in-depth study the team didn’t find any critical and non-repairable damages. So the task that team’s technical staff had to resolve was to finish recovery in time – before parc ferme deadline. And they did…
