When Vladimir Korsia told on the rally radio after SS3 that the crew  suspected they had a tyre puncture it was the time to begin to worry and to remember last year’s Rally Portugal, when the Friday had brought to Ukrainians two punctures of tyre.

But, fortunately, deja vu was no long. In the future there wasn’t any reason to remember last year’s Friday troubles. The crew did not find any problems with the tyres. Moreover, during the day Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia did not have any technical issues or mistakes.

«It was not bad day for us. Our car didn’t let us down thanks to it and to our engineers and mechanics. There was only one unpleasant moment when during second stage of the day we thought a tyre was broken. But, as it turned out, not good behavior of our car was only because of slippery race track.

On other hand, we must say, that last year we went to the track after all WRC participants and after the most part of WRC2 field and were forced to deal with rutted roads and a lot of dug rocks. But now the conditions are better for us. However that doesn’t apply to the second pass of today’s race routs, because the track was seriously dug up before middle day. So we tried to keep vigilance and to be very careful», — said Vladimir Korsia on the finish of the day.

After the first full day of the race the duo of Eurolamp WRT occupied 12th row of WRC list of the Rally Portugal results.
