During second day of Rally Mexico the crew of Eurolamp WRT was in top ten of special stage result lists twice. Presently it is the best stage result in WRC category for Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia.

Ukrainians were in top-10 on two special stages — SS9 and SS10, which took place on Autodromo Le?n and ended the Friday part of the race. And it was the good day final for Eurolamp WRT’s crew, especially in the context of badly morning start.

On beginning of the first morning special stage, 54-km El Chocolate (SS4), after the crew had made a mistake, MINI Cooper WRC stuck in a roadside ditch. Though not as quickly as they wanted, but Gorban and Korsia could return to the track and continued the race. But shortly they caught up the crew of Ricardo Trivinio and were unable to overtake them until width of the road let do it. As a result, all this problems cost the Ukrainian crew more than 10 lost minutes.

«At such difficult race as Rally Mexico, if you like, this is impossible to overcome all distance without any problems. So, if problems are inevitable, it would be better if they happen in the beginning of the race, when the crews are charged with energy and spirit. If we look at the situation under this aspect, we must say that Friday was good for us. We ended the day in good moon. And it is important!» — remarked Vladimir Korsia.

After 10 special stages Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia have 16th position  in the intermediate Rally Mexico race classification. But that is not the half of the story. Eleven special stages and 250 race kilometers is yet to come…
