Rally Sweden. The first WRC finish
    14.02.2016

Eurolamp World Rally Team completed the first race in its history which was held in top-level category of World Rally Championship – in WRC category.

The crew of Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia occupied 24th row in general classification of Rally Sweden. The best result of Ukrainian duo was 20th place on Norwegian special stage Svullrya (SS4). It is remarkable that during second pass of this stage (SS7) their car was overturned and this nuisance led to the worst result – 38th place. In terms of race pace the best stage – on average a kilometer was passed by 2,45 seconds slowly than leaders – was SS14 (R?mmen). It was the only Saturday stage when the crew avoided any problems.

«Our result is consequence of lack of drive experience on such surface. It requires other car setups, another drive style and more training. Moreover we are still learning our new car, and this process is not so quick and easy as we would want. But we have made some inferences before next race», – resumed Valery Gorban, driver of Eurolamp WRT.

Mait Maarend and Mihkel Kapp, the client crew of Eurolamp WRT, reached the finish of Rally Sweden too. Though there were some problems in their race – final part of Saturday special stages Estonians overcame without 5th gear and with broken damper. Ultimately they have occupied 34th row of general classification of Rally Sweden.
