    Rally Poland. Push more, Ukraine!
    28.06.2014

Ukrainian crew finished the Saturday section of Lotos Rally Poland in great mood.

There were two reasons behind that: the first, Saturday had all planned stages completed except one and therefore drivers had not met disappointment about ruined roads. And the second reason – really impressive result for Eurolamp WRT, Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsya: they reached the 4th place in WRC-2. And this is the best result for our crew during Lotos Rally Poland for the moment.

After chaotic Friday with cancellations of special stages, the rally has finally completed its program: with strong struggle but steadily. The race was quite good for Ukrainian driver from the very beginning of the day: Eurolamp WRT driver broke into the Top-3 on SS11 and had the 5th position after the day service. Bernardo Sousa, Yazeed Al-Rajhi and Nicolas Fuchs are our main competitors for this rally and the race was really tough. Saturday’s section included narrow and slippery special stages with up to four different types of surface – therefore it wasn’t easy fo Gorban keep the high pace and stay safe on the road.

WRC 2 ranking was changed once more after the day Martin Kangur had lost the wheel just before the finish of SS16. He was the third before that pity accident, and after he left his competitors moved one position up – that’s why Valery Gorban also moved to the 4th line of WRC-2. But even without that unexpected “gift” from his competitor, Ukrainian can feel absolutely satisfied with his day. Gorban managed to improve his actual position but also he reduced the gap to the leaders of WRC-2. So, Lotos Rally Poland has only four stages for Sunday section – and this “Polish story” will be ended. We hope that happy end will come for Ukrainian crew and wish good luck for all drivers.
