    Rally Poland. Ukraine does well
    27.06.2014

The second day of Lotos Rally Poland pleased Ukrainian fans rally and upset Lithuanian: Eurolamp WRT crew, Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsya, had a perfect day with the 6th result in WRC-2, keeping Top 5 pace during the day.

But most of special stages in Lithuania have been canceled or cut. So Saturday had some good and not so news, but finally all WRC-2 competitors have completed their tasks.

Friday’s program of Lotos Rally Poland had taugh racing schedule: drivers were intended to pass several special stages located in Lithuania and that go back to Poland. Lithuanian part of the rally was completely new, so it was quite intriguing to meet new roads. Unfortunately crews had to return empty-handed – heavy rains earlier in the week damaged the roads. They were extremely rough and with many spectators roadside, so organizers cancelled SS7 and SS8 for safety reasons.

However, those special stages, which took place in normal mode, have brought some fun to drivers. There was a great struggle in WRC-2 during the first half of the day – top five drivers were really active. So Valery Gorban took part in that competition too, making good times at SS. He spent Friday confidently: the fourth, and the third time. Pity but the second round didn’t give Gorban more chances to improve his result because of cancellations, so Ukrainian driver finished on the sixth line, and made a safe pace for the last part of the rally.

Rally has another impressive long day on Saturday – and again it is completed in Mikolajki. Good news for crews: they do not have to go abroad and all stages are held in Poland. But Lotos Rally Poland has enough surprises still, for example Saturday includes the longest 35-kilometer stages. Good luck to everyone!
