For Eurolamp WRT Rally Portugal ended in a few hundred meters before the finish of second special stage of Sunday. The crew had to overcome only 34 kilometers to reach the end of the race.

On SS17 after a jump the car of Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia deviated from optimal race line and snaged a wheel in a ditch. As a result the front-right  suspension was broken. The guys overcame the last hundred meters of the special stage and took their stage result, but before the start of SS18 the team had to confirm retirement of the crew.

«Unfortunately, somewhere in the middle of SS17 during the passing of one of the turns, we hooked the curb and cut the tyre. It is because of the puncture we were not able to have full control of the car during the jump… It’s a shame, because the finish of the race was so close, and we were holding at that moment the tenth position in WRC category of the race results list … »- said Vladimir Korsia.

The next start of Eurolamp World Rally Team in World Rally Championship is planned for the beginning of June. It will be Rally Sardinia.
