    Rally Finland. Higher and higher…
    28.07.2017

Judging by speed indicators in the intermediate results list of Rally Finland, the organizers of the event were successful in their effort to make WRC-cars slower. In comparison with the last year the average speed of the first rally day increased by 2 kilometers per hour only.

But on other hand, the amounts of troubles that the crews were faced with were unexpectedly huge. Sebastien Ogier car flew off the track and collided with a tree. Thierry Neuville suffered with engine problems. Hayden Paddon lost the wheel. Ott Tanak lost a lot of time because of puncture. Craig Breen made his fans worry when he had quite hard landing after one of the jumpings… All this commotions took place during morning section. In the afternoon passions ran high only around pure speeds fights.

In pure fight – without any technical issues and other problems on the rally road – the day passed for the crew of Eurolamp World Rally Team. Valerii Gorban and Sergey Larens avoided mistakes and run quicker and quicker on each next special stage of the day. Noteworthy Ukrainian duo had the best day results on the longest Friday’s special stages. On 21,31 kilometers of Jukojärvi 2 (SS7) Gorban and Larens occupied 14th row in the stage results list. On the Lankamaa (SS10), 21,68 kilometers, they were 18th.

After 13 special stages of Rally Finland the Eurolamp WRT crew is on 17th row in the general classification of the rally. Saturday’s part of the Finnish rally includes 134 kilometers of 8 special stages.
