    Rally Spain 2017. The win could slip away

    Third day of Rally Spain was trouble free for the crew of Eurolamp World Rally Team. But it wasn’t easy day.

    Took advantage of Saturday’s problems of Valery Gorban and Sergey Larens, one of their WRC Trophy rivals – Jean-Michael Roux – on Sunday morning was very close to the Eurolamp WRT crew. Moreover during first four stages of the day Frenchman was able to reduce his gap to critical distance – after SS17 he was only 0.6 seconds behind of Ukrainian team’s duo.

    “Today we were reaching out to our best pace too long since we were confident that our gain was enough. But when on fourth stage of the day unpleasant spin happened with us, the situation become very threatening. We understood that our win could slip away. We had to speed up… And we did it on two final special stages…” – told Valery Gorban after the finish of Spain rally.

    Eurolamp WRT crew won Rally Spain in WRC Trophy category and occupied 24th row in the general rally classification. After seven rallies – it is max quantity of rallies which could include to WRC Trophy season classification – Valery Gorban and Sergey Larens are leaders of category. But their rivals participated in five rallies only and have two rallies in reserve. So answer to the WRC Trophy winner question will be found either in England or in Australia, but without involvement of Ukrainian team.
