Neste Oil Rally Finland started on Thursday with four special stages – and despite the short distance this day was quite interesting and full of unexpected surprises.

First of all the race has begun with the rain: it was told in the forecasts before that’s why all crews were thinking about rain chance.

The rain stopped by the end of the day but the road remained challenging, and participants said that besides the classical difficulties Rally Finland had received even more of them. “The road was pretty slippery during whole day, and we had to be really careful – and till SS3 we was ok about that, – told Vladimir Korsya. – But than we met two troubles one by one. First we broke the wheel and the rim broke the brakes. We stopped at the stage, changed everything and than continued our race. But … for 500 meters only! There were some stones on the road and we had met one of them after crest: the jump was high and at the landing moment we had damaged the radiator. So… Rally2 for us for tomorrow”, – continued Korsya. Ukrainian crew had the 7th line in WRC 2 before accident.

Friday’s part of Rally Finland consists of 9 superstages. So the challenge is going to be even more tough.
