Wales Rally GB. Meeting a challenge
    14.11.2014

The first day of the Wales Rally GB, Friday, had eight special stages, and two sections of 145 kilometers.

Ukrainian team Eurolamp WRT had tough struggle during the whole day and sometimes the results of this efforts were great but sometimes that Friday was really hard to swallow. Valeriy Gorban made some really fast special stages, and took the 7th position in WRC 2.

The weather, mud, water and slippery surface have made a name for this rally. Ukraianian rally team wasn’t taken aback with the special British weather because it was the 2nd time with MINI Wales Rally GB for our team: “Compared to the last year, there are not so many changes in the road configuration, – said Vladimir Korsia. – But the weather has changed a lot. This year we had more of rain and the roads are very dirty, slippery, and in some places – extremely slippery! “.

Valeriy Gorban started the day very successfully, he was second in WRC 2 cathegory, but later the Ukrainian driver slips from the 2nd to the 7th in WRC2 after a spin in SS3 and another – and a light touch with a wall – in SS4. However, no surprises about that situation – crews are always ready to deal with mistakes and troubles in Wales. So the first section was done not so great – only the 10nd place and of course it couldn’t make the team happy. But the challenge has just begun and from the very beginning of the 2nd lap Valery Gorban went faster and faster: Gorban shows a second time on the special stages SS5 and SS6. He won some positions back and finally completed the day with the 7th result in WRC 2.

So for the next day Gorban is standing in the middle of the WRC 2 ranking. Saturday is going to bring the new challenge for the team.
