    Rally Poland. Crazy Friday
    01.07.2017

A lot of water and mud. Very slippery and windy. Horrifying and dreadful. Crazy and uncontrolled. The participants of Rally Poland were using all this words to describe the roads’ conditions and what happened on Friday’s special stages.

As the forecasters expected, the weather was ruthless for both the crews and the fans. But all of them were trying to disregard the nasty weather. There were so many spectators and they were so active, that the organizers were forced to cancel on of the special stages (SS6) because of safety reason. In the same time the crews presented to the fans spectacular race by fighting against each other, cars and marshy roads.

“Unfortunately, today has happened everything that we were afraid of. We were forced to race under rain and on very unstable roads. As a result we had very difficult day. The main of our troubles was driven by the brake system. Through pipes of the brake cooling system a lot of water and mud were getting inside, as a result during every brake we had to use the brake pedal more often to dry brake pads and disks. Fortunately all today’s special stages left behind. And we are leaders in our category. It is not so bad start for a start of the rally…” – told Valerii Gorban, Eurolamp WRT driver.

During Friday Ukrainian team was in Top-20 of the rally’s absolute rake.

Valerii Gorban’s and Sergey Larens’ best result was the 14th row in the results list of SS5. In WRC Trophy the duo of Eurolamp WRT Team won all Friday’s stages from their rivals – the crew of Jean-Michel Rauks and the crew of Jourden Serderidis – and took the leader position of the category.
