An unpredictable battle for victory in the final standings was witnessed during the third stage of the Estonian Championship held in the vicinity of its capital.
The crew of Eurolamp World Rally Team finished its first race day as a leader. However, from the very start of the second day, the Estonian Georg Gross on his Ford Fiesta WRC, being main competitor of Valery Gorban, drove much faster than the day before.
Due to an unfortunate error during braking at the start of special stage, Valeriy Gorban and Sergei Larens lost all the advantage they won the day before. In the middle of the race, it seemed that Gross is right in his driver’s seat keeping the leadership, but after the race reached its equator Gorban began making up ground, having finally won back 7 seconds. Unfortunately, it was not enough to capture gold of Tallinna Ralli 2018. As a result, after three stages of the championship the Eurolamp WRT crew is second in the race, strengthening its leadership in the overall standings.
