    Rally Poland. Very hot
    02.07.2016

Saturday part of Rally Poland was fairly calm for Eurolamp World Rally Team. The crew didn’t make any mistakes, the car worked reliably. And yet the day was very difficult. However, it was the same for other participants of the race.

The day was very difficult not least because of the very hot weather. Despite of wet forecast predictions there wasn’t any drop of rain. In accordance to Vladimir Korsia, the temperature into the cockpit rose over 60C. To rescue from heat the driver and the co-driver drank more than 4 liters of water each.

Moreover, condition of the roads made the race context for the crews more difficult – it was deep ruts and a lot of stones. At SS15 one of the stones had caused destruction of a wheel rim on MINI Cooper WRC of Eurolamp WRT. So the crew was forced to stop and to change a wheel just on the stage. It costed nearly three minutes to Ukrainians.

Before Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia set the final race day task for themselves they had taken into account both all their misadventures, which they faced during previous days of the race, and the fact that they couldn’t reach needed pace despite all efforts. So the plan to Sunday was to be on the finish of the race for sure.

In four special stages to the finish of Rally Poland the crew of Eurolamp WRT held last position in WRC category and occupied 26th position of general race classification.
