Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia looked very confident on the shakedown of Wales Rally. They shared 8th row of the training classification with Dany Sordo. But, unfortunately, the first day of the rally was not so good for Ukrainians.

During the morning special stages of Friday the crew of Eurlamp WRT was close to the edge of second dozen rivals on the results list. The duo coped with the situation on the muddy and slippery roads not very well, moreover the car let them down a little – an anti roll bar was broken. But, despite of that all, the Ukrainians had only 10-seconds gap from being at top-20.

On SS7 Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia got into unpleasant situation. The light green MINI rode very wide into one of the corners, caught muddy gravel and slided into a ditch. Neither drivers nor the car were hurt, but it was impossible to return to the road without help.

As a result, on Saturday the crew will continue the rally but with 14-minutes penalty for the missed special stages.
