As it turned out the deep ditch in which the crew of Eurolamp WRT stuck on Friday it was only beginning of their hard lines. On Saturday Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia faced problems again.

The duo could overcome only four special stages out of eight stages of second Wales Rally day. Ukrainians were 29th on morning stage, SS9. After that, they were 20th, 18th, 26th… But, during SS13 their MINI stopped. The crew was forced to stop their race because of the engine overheat.

The engineers of the team determined the cause of the overheat – it was broken water pump. It was no difficult for team’s mechanics to fix such problem. It was not only clear if the rise of temperature had been so critical to destroy the engine.

Fortunately the crew spotted the overheat timely and thereby saved the engine. On Sunday the crew of Eurolamp WRT will be on the start again.
