Rally Portugal 2017. A finish without a finish
    22.05.2017

The crew of Eurolamp WRT overcame full distance of special stages of Rally Portugal and kept the second position in WRC Trophy category, but couldn’t reach the final time check point because of technical issue.

Within just one kilometer after the start on last stage of the rally, Power Stage Fafe, after right wheel of Valery Gorban and Sergey Larens’ car hit a stone a drive-shaft was broken. Despite of the damage the crew was able to overcome the special stage, though it lost nearly 3 minutes because of it. But on the following road section another problem happened.

«We could continue run with the broken drive-shaft and finish the race. But unfortunately after the finish of last stages our engine began to overheat because of loosing of cooling liquid. We stopped and tried to find out the leak  location. We took a half of the car to pieces for this purpose, but we were unsuccessful…» — told Valery Gorban.

Next time Eurolamp World Rally Team will be on a start of World Rally Championship round one month later – from June 26 to July 2 the team will be among the participants of Rally Poland.
