The most significant race of the season – Rally Estonia – waits for Eurolamp World Rally Team already this week.

Although Rally Estonia does not have its former status of the European Championship round, its starting list may boast of such world rally stars as Ott Tanak, Hayden Paddon and Craig Breen. All factory teams will compete on the same vehicles as in the World Rally Championship. Nobody doubts that world stars consider Estonian round as a training at the forefront of Finnish round of the World Rally Championship.

The crew of Valery Gorban and Sergei Larens has its own tasks for this race: to preserve and enhance the leadership in the Championships of Latvia and Estonia. It is a quite complicated task, as 14 teams on R5 and Proto vehicles will start in Estonia in addition to Georg Gross on his Ford Fiesta WRC. Karl Kruuda will also start. This Estonian knows local roads well and may become a very dangerous rival. Finnish ‘troops’ represented by Jari Huttunen and Eerik Pietarinen can also astonish their competitors, as Finns are always full of speed on such tracks.

Two full days of the race for the distance of almost 150 kilometers are waiting for the crews on Saturday and Sunday.

Three-dimensional roads of Rally Estonia have always attracted a lot of teams from different parts of Europe. More than hundred crews from twelve countries are on the list of eligible participants. Very soon – on Friday’s shakedown – we will see the first ‘shootouts’.
